A/N: So, I haven't really felt like writing in a while – got out of the habit when I couldn't find enough time over the summer with a computer to actually try and type. People have been reviewing this fic again and I was like, 'Oh, yeah, I know where that notebook is. I saved it out when I moved, 'cause I was using it, or planning to...' So, I've always considered doing NaNoWriMo, but never actually participated. This year, my girlfriend is going to do it, and I thought it could be fun to finally participate.
So, I'm probably going to be posting what I'm writing both here and at my LJ, unless I get a serious outcry against it.
I'm going to be writing an original that I originally tried starting some years ago. I've since lost that notebook, so I'm starting over. Some info about it:

Tentative Title: At Good's End
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: Elspeth Rowan wants to read a book where the bad guy wins, and her mother suggests she writes it. The only problem is, once she sits down to write this book, it becomes her life. Literally.
Can Elspeth survive a world of her own making?
Main Characters:
Elspeth Rowan/Gwenonwyn Lasaír Kerry - Main character/author of story. She gets sucked into her book. Gwenonwyn is kidnapped at the beginning of the book and travels with Finlay to get home.
Finlay Saoirse - "Good guy" of the story. Book originally meant to be from his POV. Gwenonwyn travels with him.
Lonán Tierney - Finlay's best friend. Travels with Finlay and Gwenonwyn.
Lorcan Emrys - Head captain of the "bad guy's" army. In charge of the search for Gwenonwyn.
Setting: The Land of Kerry. The lord in charge has made a lot of enemies because of his tendency to war neighbouring countries into joining his country.

He wasn't quite sure how he felt about the whole kissing thing. That wasn't to say he didn't enjoy it – on the contrary, he couldn't get enough. It was more that, well, he felt his own contribution wasn't up to par, that he was lacking. While the Dark Lord was a forceful kisser and quite certain of himself, Severus felt as though he...wasn't. And he wasn't quite sure how to tell the Dark Lord. He simply wasn't the sort of person who would randomly say, "Oh, and, by the way, I feel as though I've failed you because I can't kiss." Never mind that the Dark Lord would probably laugh at him.

And, as much as he enjoyed the Dark Lord, the last thing Severus wanted was to be laughed at.

"Severus?"

Severus took a deep breath and glanced up at where the Dark Lord stood, a faint gleam of concern in his ruby eyes. "My Lord?"

The Dark Lord glanced around – doubtlessly making certain there was no one around – then settled himself on the arm of Severus' chair, resting his arm on Severus' shoulder. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, my Lord."

"You looked so pensive," the Dark Lord commented. "And maybe a little distressed?"

Severus forced a smile. "I simply missed you, my Lord."

The Dark Lord smiled back and leaned over. "Did you now?" he breathed onto Severus' lips, then kissed him.

Severus tried to enjoy it. He even tried to reciprocate, but it felt wrong and he turned his head away. He must be the worst kisser ever.

"Something is wrong," the Dark Lord murmured, then narrowed his eyes. "Tell me what it is, Severus."

Severus shuddered. He knew an order when he heard one, but he wasn't sure he could follow this one. "I–" he swallowed and closed his eyes. "I– My kisses– I– Damnit!"

The Dark Lord blinked in surprise. "Your kisses? They're fine, Severus," he replied, seemingly ignoring Severus' shout.

But Severus shook his head. "No. My Lord, they're..." He winced and swallowed again. "I know I can't kiss."

The Dark Lord sighed, understanding, and moved to crouch down in front of Severus' chair. "Severus, look at me," he ordered and Severus turned to meet his eyes. "I know you've never kissed anyone before, but it's not that you can't kiss, it's that you're inexperienced. And that's nothing to be ashamed of."

"But–"

"No buts." The Dark Lord stood and held out a hand. "The best way to fix your problem, my Prince, is to practise. Would you join me in my office so we can see about fixing this problem?"

Severus smiled, even as he blushed, and took the Dark Lord's hand. "Certainly, my Lord. It would be my pleasure."

"Oh, no, Severus," the Dark Lord murmured, "it will be my pleasure."

This chapter's title had me giggling for a bit, I must admit. Think about it: 'pots and pans' – 'plots and plans'. And, yes, I know. I have issues. (But you all love me anyway, don't you? XD)

A/N: I knew almost from the start of this fic what I wanted to happen during Harry's fourth year. The problem, of course, is getting there. *grumbles* I spent a lot of time tripping over how to start this chapter – and arguing with Word 2007. Sorry about that.
Alternately, once I got going, I had a hard time stopping. So this is a bit of a monster chapter. Consider it an apology for the wait.

Well, I'm going by the Lexicon's calendar for GoF, rather than the actual 94-95 calendar, like I usually do. (At least, I THINK I went by the real calendar for Harry's first year. Dunno.)

I realized I never told people what electives the kids were going to be taking this year. They are as follows: Harry - Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Muggle Studies; Hermione - Arithmancy, Ancient Ruins, CoMC; Nev - CoMC, Muggle Studies; Draco - CoMC, Ancient Runes.
Harry decided to keep all his classes because he liked them, and still wanted the fall-back of Muggle Studies in case one of his others became too hard, plus, Neville was in the class with him, even though Hermione dropped it. Hermione dropped Divination – she never did grow to like it – and Muggle Studies, since she couldn't get past all the things that were wrong. Neville only ever had CoMC and Muggle Studies. Draco had originally also had Arithmancy, but he'd hated the class and dropped it at the end of the year after Lucius okayed the action.
Ron, for those who care, is taking Divination and CoMC, just as he did in the books.

And with his dad giving him suggestions through Luna, well, it was inevitable...

Since this fic was started before DH, I won't really use much from that book. What little I do use from that book is largely from memory – my copy isn't with me, nor, I'm pretty sure, is my sister's – so it may be off a bit. Also, since I've basically changed the ending of OotP, I'm calling creative license for any changes I make.

A/N: A reviewer inquired as to why Harry wanted to return to the Dursleys after what happened with Vernon – it was on HP Fandom or I would have just PMed back – and the simple answer is that Harry doesn't really trust Voldemort. While Vernon's acting weird, Voldemort's acting even weirder. And Vernon he can threaten into leaving him alone. (Or, well, Harry thinks he can...)

A lot of people also asked why Tonks didn't notice the scar on Harry's eye – and how he adapted so quickly to only being able to see out of one eye. The easy answer to the first is that Tonks wasn't looking. The more in-depth answer is that, after a few weeks under Tom's care and a few potions, the scar isn't as noticeable as it had been.
The second question's answer is that Harry had a lot of time in his room with only his owls, so he had a fair bit of time to adapt to working with only one eye. Aiming and depth perception, specifically. (Alternately, cover one eye and go about your daily business for a bit – it really isn't all that difficult to adapt. Or, well, it isn't for me. *sweatdrop*)
